Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Aptus LLC ("Aptus," "we," "us") runs the Aptus app at trainaptus.com and our landing page at aptuslanding.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions? Email trainaptus@gmail.com.
The short version
- We collect the information you give us, including health and fitness information, to build your plan, personalize it and keep it safe.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share your health information for advertising.
- We use trusted service providers to host the app, process payments, send email and run our AI features.
- You can delete your account and data anytime in Profile.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account: your email address, name and password. We never see or store your password in readable form. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile details they share, such as your name and email.
- Profile and goals: age, sex, height, weight, activity level, goals, training experience and style, weekly schedule, equipment, food preferences and coach style.
- Health information: injuries, food allergies and intolerances, your answers to our health screening (for example, recent surgery or doctor-advised exercise limits), pregnancy, postpartum and breastfeeding status, due or delivery date, and weigh-ins.
- Activity: workouts, sets, personal records, workout ratings and notes, food and water logs, steps you enter, meal plans, recipes, grocery lists, schedules, events and to-dos. If you connect Apple Health in the iPhone app, we read your daily step count only. It's stored with your account to track your activity and set your step goal, is never used for advertising, and you can disconnect anytime in Profile.
- AI coach messages: what you write to the AI coach and its replies.
- Waitlist: your email, optional phone number, whether you agreed to texts, and referral codes.
- Support: anything you send us when you contact us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information: browser and device type, pages you visit, your approximate location based on your IP address, and error logs. We use this to keep the Service working and secure. When you join the waitlist we record your IP address to prevent spam.
- Cookies and local storage: used to keep you signed in and remember your settings. We don't use advertising cookies in the app.
Payment information
Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your Stripe customer ID, your plan and your billing status and dates, but never your full card number.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the Service: building workouts, meal plans, schedules and coach replies around your profile.
- To keep you safe: your health answers power Aptus's safety rules, such as gentler sessions until a doctor clears you, pregnancy-safe exercise and food choices, and allergy filters.
- To run your account and billing.
- To talk to you: account and service emails, and launch updates by email or text if you've agreed to them.
- To support you and protect the Service: answering questions, preventing fraud and abuse, and fixing bugs.
- To improve Aptus: using combined or de-identified information where we can.
- To follow the law.
3. How our AI features use your information
To create your plans and coach replies, we send the relevant parts of your profile, health answers, logs and messages to an AI model provider (currently Google's Gemini models, accessed through Lovable's AI gateway), which processes them to produce a response for you. We send only what the feature you're using needs.
4. Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:
- Service providers that work on our behalf and must protect your information:
- Lovable and Supabase (app hosting, database and sign-in)
- Google Gemini, through Lovable's AI gateway (processes your profile, health and log data to create your plans, meals and coach replies)
- Stripe (payments)
- Resend (email)
- Netlify (landing page hosting)
- Google and Apple (only if you choose to sign in with them)
- USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts (food search; they receive only your search words, not who you are)
- Apps you connect: if you connect Aptus to another app or AI assistant, we share the information you allow it to access.
- Legal and safety reasons: to follow the law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety or property of anyone.
- Business changes: if Aptus is merged, acquired or sells its assets, your information may transfer, and this policy will continue to protect it. We'll tell you if that happens.
- With your permission.
5. How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we cancel your subscription and delete your account data from our live systems right away. Copies in backups are removed as those backups expire. Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires. We keep waitlist information until our launch updates end or until you ask us to remove it.
6. Your choices and rights
- See and edit most of your information in Profile.
- Delete your account and data anytime in Profile.
- Get a copy of your data, or have your waitlist information removed, by emailing trainaptus@gmail.com.
- Stop texts by replying STOP. Stop marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or emailing us.
- State privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Washington or Nevada), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of its sale, targeted advertising or certain profiling. To use these rights, email trainaptus@gmail.com. We'll respond within the time the law requires, and we won't treat you differently for using your rights. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our response.
7. Children and teens
Aptus isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it. If you believe a child under 13 is using Aptus, email us. For users aged 13 to 17, Aptus applies extra protections, including no weight-loss or calorie-cutting content and no supplement suggestions.
8. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit and access controls that keep each person's data private to their own account. Payment details are handled by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and fix problems quickly.
9. Health data laws
Some states, such as Washington and Nevada, have laws specifically about consumer health data. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains how we handle that information.
10. Where we process data
Aptus is operated in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
